Also this year, the students of the School of Architecture and Built Environment of the University of Adelaide returned to Port Augusta for an intensive on site urban design studio.

On Monday the 18th of September at the Institute Theatre in Commercial rd., the students presented and displayed their projects for a spatial installation in the CBD to a public audience, including the Vice-Mayor, the CEO, the city planners of the Port Augusta city council. The audience voted for the best projects and chosen the proposal to be realized: “City in the mirror”.

From Monday 18th to Friday the 22nd of September the students will work to the realization of the idea. The purpose of the project is to reclaim space that is currently underused and to highlight the beauty of the historical centre. At the same time the project is aimed at engaging the community to share ideas on the future of Port Augusta.

A little pond will be realized in front of the Old Court House and color paper boats will be sailed to communicate impressions and moods.

JOIN US to the launch of the installation on Friday the 22nd of September from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm in front of the Old Court House in Commercial rd., Port Augusta and bring your ideas about the public space of the CBD.

Public opening and party with drinks and nibbles.

Thanks to all the supporters of the project and a special thank to Mr Jeevan Deut for his kind availability.
