From 10th to 18th of April 2017, international master students in architecture, landscape architecture and urban design have worked together on common urban design proposals aimed at re-imagining the Port River urban landscapes. The projects were developed in the frame of the Interdisciplinary Joint Urban Design studio 2017, a collaboration of the School of Architecture and Built Environment of the University of Adelaide with ENSA Strasbourg and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Strasbourg. The aim of the studio was to reimagining the urban future of the port and generates innovative solutions for its spatial and social regeneration.
During the intensive ten days workshop the master students have been involved in several activities or “challenges” and attended lectures on the economic, cultural and environmental aspects of the Adelaide Port.
Each of the five urban design proposals developed by the students included a 3’ film, a concept model, a banner, an Augmented Reality render, and a master plan. The projects have been presented on a final public event on the 18th of April with the participation of the local and state authorities.
