I am writing to thank you for your efforts in coordinating and overseeing the Architecture Interns and their delivery of three urban design projects on the LeFevre Peninsula during February through the April 2017. We are appreciative of the dedication you and your students have demonstrated throughout the project as well as the practical material that was developed, which will be used to inform our future work.
Close collaboration between the University of Adelaide and the South Australian Government has been the key to mutual success, providing widespread benefits for our organization as well as the interns. I trust that the students have found the project rewarding and that this exposure in the public sector provides them with a stepping stone in their future career pathways.
You have been integral to the successful engagement and delivery of the project and once again I would like to extend my sincere thanks for your efforts.

I worked closely with Elisa Palazzo whose enthusiasm was infectious and organisation/teaching skills were impressive. Elisa was an excellent ambassador for UNSW and managed her interactions with various council staff professionally and effectively. The students seemed to get a lot out of the project. […] In regard to community involvement, the project succeeded in attracting a number of community participants, primarily local residents […] the ones who I met/spoke to found the project interesting, enjoyable and relevant to the needs of their place. It also provided some welcome activation and ideas which I believe the community participants valued.

Regional Development Australia Far North has worked with the Urban Ecosystem design Lab for many years on their various initiatives in the region. It has been a pleasure to work with the students and see them grow through the process. We were very pleased with the installation of the latest initiative “City in the Mirror” and believe that it assisted in bringing the main central business district of Port Augusta alive for an afternoon and opened the minds of those that participated. We look forward to further projects and revitalising the region.

In relation to the project I was nothing short of impressed by the student’s efforts their attention to detail and the thought processes they used was fantastic.
It did identify what a blank canvas or in this case unused land can be converted to and have a great community impact.
To see the looks on the children's faces in what was a normal a car park was priceless and it did gather the community to an area that was not normally utilised.
I commend you and your students on the work that they did and hope you did not get to sun burned as the days were quite warm.
Take care and stay safe.

I would like to thank you and the Urban Ecosystem design Lab participants for inviting me and the Council Staff to present to the group. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our knowledge about the history of Port Adelaide and our ideas for its future development.
I was particularly encouraged by the international partnerships the University of Adelaide has established with overseas university in the Studio. It is these sorts of partnerships that present us with important opportunities to generate new ideas and perspectives and to learn from other region’s experiences in tackling shared challenges.
An example of this was our discussion on the day about the importance of adaptive designs that do not engineer out any potential future design solutions, thereby allowing our built environments an communities to adapt to changing economic, social and environmental conditions.
I look forward to receiving the studio’s final report and design ideas and future collaborations between the Council the University of Adelaide’s School of Architecture and Built Environment.

I was impressed with all of the ideas the students came up with and I thought the installation the other week went quite well.
Anything that brightens up the main shopping precinct and makes it more community friendly and interesting is good for tourism also.

I was more than happy to assist with the project and offer assistance where I could. For me the project was a new and exciting creation which brought about a new look on Port Augusta Heritage buildings. Not only that but a personalised touch by including coloured paper boats which symbolised the future for our small community.
... Overall the project was well received by the community and others who came to partake in the opening of the project.
I have included some of my own photos of the day for you to use.
Thank you for the opportunity and I look forward to working with you and Bruno again.
